Mission & Purpose
The Canadian Pride Curling Association advances and grows 2SLGBTQIA+ curling nationwide by connecting and supporting Pride Leagues, coordinating national initiatives and championships, and serving as a unified voice within the broader Canadian curling community.
Founding Mandate:
- To be a unified voice for 2SLGBTQIA+ curling within and outside of Canada
- To coordinate, regulate, and manage the operation of the Canadian Pride Curling Championship
- To support member organizations in the delivery of curling in their areas of operation, as requested and able
- To provide a forum for collaboration, shared learning, and collective decision-making among Pride Curling Leagues across Canada
Values
- Inclusion - We are committed to creating welcoming environments where 2SLGBTQIA+ athletes — including Two-Spirit, transgender, non-binary, and gender-diverse individuals — can participate fully and authentically.
- Equity - We recognize that fairness requires intentional action. We strive to reduce barriers to participation and to center those historically underrepresented within both the curling and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.
- Community - We believe curling builds connection. We foster collaboration, mutual respect, and shared learning among Pride Leagues across Canada.
- Excellence - We value integrity, sportsmanship, and competitive achievement, and we support high-quality programming and championship experiences at all levels.
- Leadership - We serve as a unified national voice for 2SLGBTQIA+ curling and act with transparency, accountability, and good governance in all we do.
- Respect for Autonomy - We honour the independence, diversity, and local governance of our member leagues while working together toward shared national goals.
